Friends with Ulterior Motives

Do YOU Have Ulterior Motives? As Christians, we have several evangelistic approaches open to us.  A few of us are involved in various forms of mass evangelism such as crusades.  However, the majority of us seem to be on the periphery where evangelism is concerned.  Whether the reason is fear, lack of confidence or, worse, lack of love for Jesus Christ (see John 14:15), many of us do not take the time to share our faith.

This need not be so.  Very few of us are without friends. And all of us, I dare say, have acquaintances.  If we follow the apostle's example, some of our acquaintances can be made into friends and, by the grace of God, into brothers and sisters in the Lord!

Admittedly, sharing our faith with friends sometimes proves difficult-especially when they were never informed of our commitment from the very onset of the friendship. But it is not impossible. Starting now is certainly better than not doing it at all.

Remember! There is nothing too hard for the Lord and to be obedient to Him is better than sacrifice.  We have become his friends (John 13). Let us through the befriending of others introduce them to Jesus Christ - the ‘forever friend' (as sung by Carlene Davis).
